TYPES OF TIXEL TREATMENT
There are 3 types of Tixel treatments
This setting gives the most effective results for skin tightening and scar treatment.
At this level, the skin will develop small amount of crusting post-treatment that may take about one week to clear. However, after two days this crusting can be covered with good-quality makeup. The result of ablative treatment will be similar to a deep chemical peel or fractional CO2 laser resurfacing treatment.
This treatment setting is able to provide the same skin tightening results as the ablative treatment, but will require more treatment sessions.
This setting is suitable for patients who cannot take any time off work to recover, as it’s safe to apply your usual make-up immediately after treatment. The skin tightening result of non-ablative treatment will be like a medium-depth chemical peel, but without the recovery time.
This setting is useful for treating skin pigmentations like melasma or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Tixel will make the skin porous for about six hours, thus allowing topical treatments to penetrate the skin more effectively.
It is not a painful treatment and usually no anaesthetic is required. Occasionally, numbing creams maybe used.
What are the side effects?
Some redness and swelling and possibly crusting for few days. Usually minor.
What do I need to do after the treatment?
Avoid SPF for the first 2 days if had ablative treatment as contains titanium, zinc and other chemicals that are best avoided following ablative treatment, if however you have to go out in the sun following an ablative treatment create a physical barrier: hat , and use spf over the moisturiser so a barrier is created.
Make up can be worn, preferably mineral after 48 hours of ablative, and straight away post non-ablative, again over moisturiser/SPF
Avoid UV exposure and use SPF daily 30-50 for 3 months post treatment.
Apply topical vitamin C and or take oral vitamin C daily, and increase their protein intake after treatment( from my own experience and observations)
Avoid touching skin after treatment for 48 hours after ablative treatment
To not pick, scratch or scrub of the small micro- crustings on the skin, let them come off naturally over the next week or so
Do not use make-up for 48 hours post ablative treatment
